Concrete Finishers/Form Setters/Laborers- 5 years experience

Gunter Construction Company is seeking skilled Form Setter, Concrete Finishers and Laborers..
Picture
Minimum of 5 years experience including but not limited to:
  • Layouts, forms setting, reinforcement and pouring
  • Must be able to take directions and complete tasks
  • Experience forming and pouring concrete curb & gutter, concrete sidewalk, and pervious concrete paving.
  • Ability to set string line to grade for setting concrete forms.
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to read tape measure / plans.
  • Knowledge of power tools / hand tools.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company policies and procedures
  • Read blueprints to determine the scope of work: layout work, calculate quantities.
  • Knowledge of ADA requirements
  • OSHA 10 hour card required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Spanish & English communication skills a plus.
  • Compensation commensurate upon experience
  • Passing of Background and drug test required
  • Pay: $18.00 - $50.00 per hour

Heavy Equipment Operator

  • Operates efficiently heavy equipment such as a Track hoe, Loader, Dozer, Compactor, Blade and other heavy equipment.
  • Efficient in use of GPS capabilities on equipment
  • Understands how to read elevations cut/fill
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site or highway construction and paving.
  • Operator will be responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers.
  • Follow directions of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site.
  • Perform daily pre–and–post equipment inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Be able to work overtime when required.
  • Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Report to work at the designated start time.
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
  • Ability to properly maintain equipment
  • Experience running curb machin
  • Examples of Work:
    ·         Knows how to strategically remove concrete curbs, sidewalks, paving efficiently.
    ·         Cuts, Digs, compacts, Performs finished grading operations in order to minimize over-runs of asphalt and concrete.
    ·         Fine grade; dirt, rock, etc.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Salary: $50,000.00 to $100,000.00 /year

Superintendent- 10+ years experience

  • Must have minimum of 10 years’ experience in Utility, Dirt work, Concrete Work, Civil work/Street Rehab projects as a Field Superintendent.
  • Ability to schedule, supervise, and direct Subcontractors & field laborers.
  • Ability to multi-task without impacting attention to detail or quality of the final product.
  • Good Leadership skills, Communication (oral and written), and Inter-personal skills.
  • Self-starter and ability to make decisions independently.
  • Ability to Establish and set priorities.
  • Forward thinker.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Thorough knowledge of Construction industry.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel, Microsoft Project skills a plus.
  • Familiarity with KCMO, MoDOT and KDOT paperwork a plus.
  • ​Proper use and care of company property (tools, equipment, vehicles).
  • Keep the jobsite clean to create a safe and productive work site.
  • Monitors and manages all aspects of costs related to projects including budgeting.
  • Oversees project schedule to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Monitors productivity and performance of their jobsite.
  • Manages subcontractors, suppliers and personnel on job site.
  • Resolves schedule issues.
  • Accurately read and interpret plans and specifications of each job.
  • Know the details of the job and accurately plans for upcoming work.
  • Know each subcontract so there is no confusion of what is to be performed by them.
  • Promote the highest level of professionalism and ethics.
  • Inputs daily timecards for projects.
  • Processes daily paperwork (ie. Daily logs, equipment timesheets, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of construction best practices.​
  • Holds self and team members accountable.
  • Build relationships with coworkers to ensure that team efforts are maximized and the highest quality product is delivered to our customer.

Dump Truck Driver

  • At least 3 years experience driving dump trucks
  • Pass DOT physical
  • OSHA10 hour card
  • Pass a drug screen, background check and random drug screenings throughout employment
  • Class A CDL
  • Clean driving record
  • No failed Drug/Alcohol in last 3 years
  • No more than 1 major violation on drivers license n last 12 months
  • No more than 2 minor violations in last 12 months
  • Ability to safely drive and operate a dump truck
  • Some Manual labor, heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, walking kneeling, reaching
  • Abide by DOT regulations and road laws
  • Ability to work productively and efficiently in all types of weather

Pre-Project Planning Functions

  • Understand plans, specifications, scope and standard drawings for the Project 
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality and acceptance requirements
  • Review and understand the bid and budget assumptions
  • Develop detailed work plan with the Project team to ensure successful Project completion
Schedule
  • Prepare Project C.P.M. and updates: include narrative of events that changed the schedule and add events as they occur.
Project Management & Administration
  • Maintain dialog with Project Manager of needs (I.e. misc. supplies, materials and equipment) and make arrangements to get it 
  • Maintain communication with Owner and their Representatives of on-going work
  • Recognize when we are performing work beyond the scope of or contract & discuss it with Project Manager
Progress & Payments, Change Orders & Cost Control
  • Maintain GCC and all Subcontractors job quantities
  • Review cost reports on a weekly basis
  • Observe crew sizes, equipment utilization, material usage & productions as compares to budget assumptions. Discuss variances with Project Manager.
Quality Control
  • Understand quality control program and quality control requirements
  • Recognize when work is being performed in violation of the specification. Notify Supt. & OM.
Safety ​
  • Observe site for safe operations

Concrete Foreman/Leadman

Description
  • Thorough knowledge of construction best practices
  • Monitors and manages all aspects of costs related to projects including budgeting
  • Know the details of the job and accurately plan for upcoming work
  • Inputs daily time cards and other paperwork (ie. Daily logs, equipment timesheets, etc.)
  • Complete equipment damage reports or other incident reports
  • Willing and able to jump in and do whatever is needed to get the job done.
  • Maximize problem-solving through communication with supervisors and coworkers, work hard to find solutions to problems and collaborate with the foreman on all issues.
  • Study specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
  • Proper use and care of company property (tools, equipment, vehicles)
Capabilities:
  • Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience in Concrete Work, Civil work/Street Rehab projects as a Foreman.
  • Accurately read and interpret plans and specifications of each job.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of concrete installation
  • Ability to use a level and calculate elevations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints accurately
  • Read and understand blueprints to determine the scope of work: layout work, calculate quantities.
  • Determine number, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, shop drawings or oral instructions
  • Able to read plans with the ability to suggest a change to owner’s representative to meet challenges in the field.  Able to use a level or transit and to calculate elevations
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and quality
